Avoid the Avalanche by Paul Rathbun (Instant Download)

I like the premise of effects such as Void by Skulkor or Avalanche by Paul Harris. However, (without going into their methods too much) I didn’t care for what I felt was an unmotivated placement of the selected card on top of the empty card box. I wanted the actions in this release to be the same effect but with better motivation for the required actions. Thus, I named the effect “Avoid the Avalanche” as a nod to the two effects that inspired this handling.

Effect: A card is fairly selected and peeked at, then placed between the spectator’s palms. The remaining cards are handed to a different spectator to hold. The performer names the just peeked at card and then the card goes blank. The rest of the deck is found to be blank as well, leaving them to wonder if it was all in their imagination.
